Full-time – 35 hours per week-Two-year Fixed Term Contract

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Menevia is committed to safeguarding and this vacancy provides an opportunity for a skilled and experienced professional to lead the Safeguarding function. The primary focus for the Safeguarding Development Manager is to implement, as a matter of urgency, an action plan to improve and embed safeguarding practices across the Diocese.

 

The Safeguarding Development Manager also has a senior role in facilitating safeguarding across the Diocese, demonstrating strong and inspiring leadership skills, leading the delivery of case support, supervision and the provision of expert advice to the Bishop, Trustees, and Clergy, and taking appropriate action in response to safeguarding issues that arise.

 

The successful applicant will need to have a comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy procedure and best practice guidance and come from a background of either Police, Probation, Social Work or Health, with specific experience in safeguarding at a senior level. The role is based in the Curial Offices in Swansea, with the likelihood of travel throughout the Diocese. However, hybrid working will be available.

The annual salary range is £40,000 - £42,000 depending on experience.

On the 7th June 26 during Sunday morning mass at 10.30am Fr. Clement will undertake First Holy Communion to our Communion class led by Mary Roberts. As is tradition there will be a First Holy Communion breakfast in the hall after mass. If you can contribute to the food required there is a list of what is required in the porch. Please remember all the children in your prayers.

Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month in the Gorseinon Parish Hall. Doors open at 1.30pm, film to start at 2pm Film Club on Thursday June 11th will be very different. We've been asked to show a thriller with not too much blood in it!! We have chosen a good one, I think. It's called the opposite of "The Man in corridor -10“

On 14th June 2026, the Sacrament of Confirmation will be conferred by Archbishop Mark at the 10.30am mass. There will be tea, coffee and cake after mass in the hall. If you can assist with the provision of cakes, helping on the day with serving tea or coffee, wash up etc please see Marie-Louise Smith who will be coordinating the provision of tea and coffee. There is also a need to have a general clean of the church and hall, church grounds and garden. If you can assist with any of these see Stephen.
