Free to choose whether to migrate or to stay
“Free to choose whether to migrate or to stay” is the theme chosen by the Holy Father for the 109th World Day of Migrants and Refugees (WDMR). Pope Francis intends to promote a renewed reflection on a right that has not yet been codified at the international level: the right not to have to migrate or, in other words, the right to be able to remain in one’s own land.

The Swansea Curia of the Legion of Mary in conjunction with the regional Senatus of the Legion of Mary present an afternoon conference, relating the experience of the Legion of Mary in its role of evangelization on Saturday 31st May 2025 at St. David’s Priory Church, St. David’s Place, Swansea, SA1 3NG . Holy Mass at 12:30pm opens the conference, followed by refreshments and prayer. The programme included details of national and international events, concluding no later than 3:30pm
This weekend there will be a second collection for the Priest Training & Discipleship Appeal. The appeal makes a vital contribution, not only to support the training of our future priests, but for the first-time donations will also be used to support wider discipleship activity – whether that’s youth ministry, catechetical formation, or diaconate and lay leadership training. If you would like to Gift Aid your donation, please pick up the new leaflet with an internal envelope at the back of the church. Dear brothers, Happy Easter! Despite his illness of these past months, we were all saddened to hear the news yesterday of the death of Pope Francis. He was an extraordinary witness to the Risen Lord and we pray now that the Lord quickly receive him into the kingdom. I will be celebrating a “Mass of the Resurrection – Remembering Pope Francis” in St David’s Cathedral, Cardiff at 6.30pm tomorrow evening (Wednesday). Please come to concelebrate if you can and encourage our people to come too. There will also be a Vigil of Prayer on Thursday Evening at 6pm in St David’s Cathedral to which we have invited ecumenical, inter-faith and civic dignitaries. Diocesan Shrine of Divine Mercy: Church of the Sacred Heart, Morriston (25 years of the Sunday of Divine Mercy 2000 -2025). Palm Sunday - is 13th April 25 . Mass at Blessed Sacrament will commence in the parish hall and process to the church through the far doors and up the slope. Those parishioners with mobility issues are advised to wait in the church.
